Even women who don’t like to wear much makeup often turn to concealer now and then. The reason is simple: the skin on your face is a mirror for your quality of life, and sometimes, life can be hard. Be it an epic breakout, dark circles caused by late nights, or dryness as a result of stress, we all have something we’d prefer to hide, at least now and then.

This is why women need to know about these amazing concealer hacks. They’ll make applying this ingenious beauty product a breeze, so at least if the stress of your life is showing up on your face, you’ll be the only one who knows it.

1) Conceal, First
Many women apply foundation before concealer. Don’t! If you have acne, or redness or dark circles, apply your concealer prior to your first. It provides the heavy hitting coverage this tough spots need.

2) Use a Primer
A makeup primer makes sure your concealer stays put. Just like you’d prime your wall before you paint it, prime your face before you use concealer.

Pro tip: get a quality product, like a Napoleon Perdis primer. This will ensure your look has the best foundation possible.

3. Go Green
Got pimples? It happens. To cover these up, apply a dab of green concealer on top of the pimple. This colour will cancel out the pimples’ redness. After you’ve got it green, use a cotton pad to blot on liquid concealer. Avoid using a brush since this will spread the pimple’s bacteria. Toss the cotton pad when you’re done.

4. Light for Eyes
To brighten up your under eye area, select a concealer that’s a little lighter than your skin tone. This will give you lift your undereyes need, without looking out of place. Use a chunky concealing pencil for best results.

Pro tip: You can also use your lighter concealing pencil to line under your brow and on your eyelids. This will not only brighten your eye area and make your eyes appear larger, but it will provide a solid foundation for eyeshadow and liner.

5. Yellow Light
Got uneven skin tone? Who doesn’t. To smooth out the inconsistencies, use a yellow toned concealer. You can then apply a foundation that’s spot on your skin tone after.

The point of concealer is to provide coverage that’s undetectable, so if you want to look more flawless, naturally, use these tried and tested concealer hacks. You can thank us later!
